Basketball Game Preview: Seymour Owls vs. Jennings County Panthers

The Seymour Owls are taking a road trip to face off against the Jennings County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Seymour came up short against Jeffersonville on Friday, falling 56-36. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Red Devils are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Jennings County ended up a good deal behind Greensburg on Tuesday and lost 78-60. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seymour now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Jennings County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Seymour was able to grind out a solid win over Jennings County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 54-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seymour since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
