Haddon Township proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Sterling Silver Knights 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jordan Strauss spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mikayla Callahan and Jamie Kozarski did most of the damage at the plate: Callahan went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Kozarski went 3-for-4 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Karsyn McCoy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Haddon Township's victory bumped their record up to 13-6-1. As for Sterling, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.
Looking ahead, Haddon Township will be playing in front of their home fans against Maple Shade at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Hawks have won four straight at home, while the Wildcats won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
