Basketball Game Preview: Example Academy Eagles vs. Western Reserve Academy Pioneers

The Example Academy Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Western Reserve Academy Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Example Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Winston Salem Christian on Sunday. Example Academy fell 54-42 to Winston Salem Christian. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Western Reserve Academy hadn't done well against SPIRE Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Western Reserve Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against SPIRE Academy, sneaking past 50-48. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the SPIRE are ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western Reserve Academy's win came from a few key players Example Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brooklyn Hall, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Lilah Turnbull, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points.

Example Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Western Reserve Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Example Academy came up short against Western Reserve Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 61-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hall, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.
