Basketball Recap: Copan Gets the Win

Copan put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They escaped with a win against the Barnsdall Panthers by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 66-37 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Copan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Barnsdall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Copan will head out on the road to take on Wesleyan Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wesleyan Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Copan likes a good challenge. As for Barnsdall, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-45 win against South Coffeyville on the 16th.
