Basketball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

Foard extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-2. They fell 61-50 to the St. Stephens Indians. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in February.

Despite the loss, Foard still got an impressive performance from Noah Hedrick, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Gaither-Walton, who posted 12 points.

As for St. Stephens, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 69.5 points this season.

It was another big night for Jachavis Sherrill, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Zablan, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 14 points and five boards.

Coming up, Foard will challenge Hibriten at 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd. As for St. Stephens, they have already played their next matchup, a 54-45 win against West Iredell on the 25th.
