Softball Recap: Rosemount Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Rosemount had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 9-2 to make it four. They never let the Lakeville South Cougars get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Jorey Fry, who gave up just three hits to keep Lakeville South off the board. Fry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenzi Benson was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Julia Wigley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Lakeville South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. The contest marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Lakeville South's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Dorner, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosemount will challenge North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Polars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Irish surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakeville South, they will be playing at home against Eagan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
