Softball Preview: Brookhaven Panthers vs. Bogue Chitto Bobcats
Brookhaven has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Bogue Chitto Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, while Brookhaven put up plenty of runs, the same can't be said for Bogue Chitto. Brookhaven was the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over Bogue Chitto. The victory was just what Brookhaven needed coming off of a 10-3 defeat in their prior game.
The team relied heavily on Journi Hunt, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI. Madison Benson was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Brookhaven now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Bogue Chitto, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.
