McDonogh posted their biggest win since December 28, 2024 on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the La Plata Warriors with a sharp 74-54 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Warriors are ranked 192nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for McDonogh and bumps their season record up to 13-8. As for La Plata, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

McDonogh will challenge Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something McDonogh surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Plata, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-54 loss against McDonough on the 29th.
