Recap: Centennial Coyotes vs. Liberty Lions
After a string of nine wins, the Centennial Coyotes's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Liberty on the road by a decisive 36-17 margin. Centennial has struggled against Liberty recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Although Centennial took the loss, they still got scores from Marcus Logan and Noah Carter.
It was another big night for Navi Bruzon, who threw for 371 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 139 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Bruzon was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Braylon Gardner was another key contributor, picking up 194 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Liberty, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Centennial and Desert Mountain will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Liberty will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Hamilton is ranked sixth, while Liberty is ranked first).
