Basketball Game Preview: Crane Medical Cougars vs. Hammond Central Wolves

Having just played yesterday, the Crane Medical Cougars will jump right back in to play the Hammond Central Wolves at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Hammond Central will be up against a hot Crane Medical squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 83-14 win over North Lawndale. With the Cougars ahead 53-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Za'Nylayh Moaton and Tiana Simmons were among the main playmakers for Crane Medical as the former posted 14 points and the latter put up 12 points. That's the most points Moaton has posted since back in January. Tatiana Feliciano was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hammond Central). Everything went their way against South Bend Washington on Saturday as they made off with a 59-37 victory. The Wolves pushed the score to 48-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Hammond Central's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Crane Medical, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
