Football Recap: St. Lucy's Takes a Loss

St. Lucy extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Bonita Bearcats 40-6. If the Regents were looking for revenge after losing 32-0 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, St. Lucy's still got an impressive performance from Emma Ramirez, who rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

As for Bonita, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.5 points on average over those games.

Bonita's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kody McKinney, who picked up 34 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 73 yards on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Tressa Beatty, who rushed for 38 yards and one score.

St. Lucy's wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 25-6 loss against Glendora on the 23rd. As for Bonita, they have also already played their next contest, a 38-7 victory against Covina on the 23rd.
