Basketball Recap: Strong Rock Christian Takes a Loss

Strong Rock Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 51-40 to the Flint River Academy Wildcats on Tuesday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 72-31.

Flint River Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Riner led the charge by putting up 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Riner has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Muhammad, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Strong Rock Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Flint River Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strong Rock Christian will face off against Westfield School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Strong Rock Christian is facing Westfield School at the right time seeing as Westfield School is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Flint River Academy, they will square off against St. George's at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
