Soccer Game Preview: Wilson vs. Carson

The Wilson Mules will challenge the Carson Colts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The Colts will have to contend with a Wilson squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen yet this season. The Mules fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Mules can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Wildcats are ranked 144th).

Meanwhile, Carson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 5-2 victory. The Colts better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Nathan Garcia, as he scored every single goal for his team.

The Mules' loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for Carson, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
