The Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish will face off against the Powers Catholic Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.
Notre Dame Prep's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Hazel Park with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Fighting Irish have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Notre Dame Prep got a great performance from Brianna DeCaussin as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave DeCaussin a new career-high.

At the plate, Abigail Stewart was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Simon, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Notre Dame Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 18-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Powers Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against New Lothrop, falling 12-1. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly 11 runs.
Notre Dame Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Powers Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.
Notre Dame Prep's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Fighting Irish have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Powers Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Notre Dame Prep continue to outrun the ball?
