Preview: Somers Tuskers vs. Harrison Huskies
Somers has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Harrison Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Somers put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. Everything went their way against Eastchester as Somers made off with a 35-14 win. Given Somers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Eastchester is ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mason Kelly was his usual excellent self, rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Dean Palazzolo also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Harrison came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Yorktown and snuck past 24-21.
Somers has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.9 points. As for Harrison, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Somers took their victory against Harrison in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 21-0. Does Somers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harrison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
