Baseball Recap: Providence Comes Up Short

Providence lost against Oakwood back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pioneers came up short against the Owls, falling 19-7. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Providence got a good showing from Cade Mackenzie, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mackenzie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dylan Sarkisian was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That hit marked the first that he got this season.

Providence's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Oakwood, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Providence will head out to take on Flintridge Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakwood, they will be playing at home against Buckley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
