High school football rankings: Lee's Summit North headlines Missouri Preseason MaxPreps Top 25

Broncos look for first title after falling 35-28 in last season's Class 6 championship game.

The 2023 high school football season in Missouri kicks off later this month and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. Lee's Summit North (Lee's Summit) owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

The Broncos head into the season looking to get back to the Class 6 championship game after falling 35-28 in overtime to Christian Brothers (St. Louis) a year ago. 

Seeking its first state title, Lee's Summit North returns recent Missouri commit Williams Nwaneri along with Isaiah Mozee, Chase Pearsall and Elijah Leonard. Nwaneri had 56 tackles, 12 sacks and 10 tackles for loss during the 12-2 campaign last fall.

Defending state champions in the Missouri Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 include Christian Brothers in Class 6, Howell (St. Charles) in Class 5, St. Mary's (St. Louis) in Class 4, Cardinal Ritter College Prep (St. Louis) in Class 3, Blair Oaks (Jefferson City) in Class 2 and East Buchanan (Gower) in Class 1.

Rankings are computer-generated, factoring in past results and adjustments such as returners and statistical data when available.
