Basketball Recap: Ely Comes Up Short

Ely was the 64-36 winner over Moose Lake/Willow River when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Ely Timberwolves and the Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels didn't end well, with the Ely Timberwolves falling 63-46. The Timberwolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ely's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Moose Lake/Willow River, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ely has already played their next match (against Floodwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Moose Lake/Willow River is taking a road trip to square off against North Woods at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Moose Lake/Willow River is facing North Woods at the right time seeing as North Woods is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
