Basketball Preview: Berean Academy Eagles vs. Tennessee Christian Prep Hawks
The Berean Academy Eagles will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Tennessee Christian Prep Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Berean Academy beat the Wildcats 55-46. Given Berean Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Austen Harvey, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Wigginton, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Tennessee Christian Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in December of 2023. They came out on top against Dalton Academy by a score of 62-50. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Tennessee Christian Prep as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Berean Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Tennessee Christian Prep, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Berean Academy suffered a grim 53-33 defeat to the Hawks in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Berean Academy, Tylen Arnwine (who scored 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
