Basketball Recap: La'niya Willis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Oswego

There's no place like home for Plainfield South, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down the Oswego Panthers 64-50 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Plainfield South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but La'Niya Willis led the charge by putting up 16 points and three steals. Willis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tierra Abner, who posted 18 points and five boards.

Plainfield South's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Oswego, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Plainfield South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-47 loss against Naperville North on the 18th. As for Oswego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-37 win against Central on the 18th.
