Basketball Game Preview: North Salem Vikings vs. South Salem Saxons

North Salem hasn't had much luck against South Salem recently, but that could start to change on Friday. It'll be Northside v. Southside when the North Salem Vikings and the South Salem Saxons meet at 7:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North Salem is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 64-48 to McNary.

Meanwhile, South Salem lost to Sprague at home by a 83-64 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Saxons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Olympians are ranked eighth).

North Salem's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for South Salem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

North Salem was able to grind out a solid victory over South Salem when the teams last played on February 4th, winning 90-78. Does North Salem have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Salem turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
