Softball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

If Roosevelt was riding high fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Poughkeepsie on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Presidents came up short against the Rondout Valley Ganders on Monday, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ganders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 two weeks ago.

Abigale Greenspan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Rondout Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Roosevelt and Rondout Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Presidents (ranked 528th) will meet Pine Plains (ranked 190th) at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rondout Valley will challenge Kingston at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (246 vs. 120).
