After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palatine, Schaumburg was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Wheeling Wildcats by a score of 8-4. This was payback for the Saxons, who suffered an 8-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Madison Linnemann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Kosek, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alexa Evans, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Schaumburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Schaumburg's record now sits at 6-10. As for Wheeling, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Schaumburg will take on Elk Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Saxons are facing the Grenadiers at the right time seeing as the Grenadiers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wheeling, they will challenge Conant at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
