Baseball Recap: Spring Comes Up Short

Spring extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 12-12. They fell 7-3 to the Dekaney Wildcats. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Spring got a good showing from Noah Martinez, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Martinez has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Spring saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Moises Arb, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Dekaney, they pushed their record up to 13-10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On Dekaney's side, the team relied heavily on Damien Torres, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

While Spring had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
