Recap: Milford Mill Academy Millers vs. Potomac Wolverines
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Milford Mill Academy Millers walked away with it. They blew past the Wolverines, posting a 42-10 victory at home. Considering Milford Mill Academy has won seven contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Keion Sutton was on fire: he rushed for 268 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 15.8 yards per carry. Sutton really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Purdie, who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Milford Mill Academy has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Potomac, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Milford Mill Academy will head out on the road to face off against Decatur at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Decatur knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Milford Mill Academy likes a good challenge. Potomac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
