Recap: Belvidere North Blue Thunder vs. Woodstock Blue Streaks
The Belvidere North Blue Thunder's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 49-36 to Woodstock. Belvidere North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodstock apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.
Despite the loss, Belvidere North had strong showings from Samantha Adams, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six steals, and Ella Schremser, who scored five points. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Belvidere North bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Woodstock, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belvidere North is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Guilford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belvidere North in Illinois (Guilford is ranked 143rd, while Belvidere North is ranked 578th). As for Woodstock, they will head out on the road to face off against Plano at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Plano focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Thursday.
