Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Covington). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Irion County Hornets on Friday, sneaking past 61-59. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Owls.

Covington's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Irion County, they dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Covington won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bartlett at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Irion County will take on Garden City in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
