Baseball Recap: Meyersdale Find Success

Meyersdale won the last time they faced North Star and things went their way on Monday too. The Red Raiders walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.

The team relied heavily on Landon Ludy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Hainsworth, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

The win got Meyersdale back to even at 7-7. As for North Star, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meyersdale will square off against Rockwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for North Star, they will host Berlin Brothersvalley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Mountaineers at the right time seeing as the Mountaineers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
