Flag Football Game Preview: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Denver North Vikings

The Vista Ridge Wolves will face off against the Denver North Vikings at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Vista Ridge 14.9, Denver North 6.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Vista Ridge beat Elizabeth 19-14. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver North). They blew past Bruce Randolph, posting a 48-0 win. Considering the Vikings have won six matchups by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Vista Ridge better keep an eye on Felicity Tomberg. She was instrumental in Denver North's win, picking up 71 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Tomberg a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Lamar, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Denver North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Grace Julianelle led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. Alexa Saenz got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Denver North's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Vista Ridge, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
