Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Halls' Winning Streak

Halls dropped their record down to 27-5-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Gibbs Eagles by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Halls saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makaylie Hutchison, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Gibbs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

On Gibbs' side, the team relied heavily on Shelby Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Halls will venture away from home to face off against Alcoa at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tornadoes will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gibbs, they will face off against Farragut at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.2, the Admirals 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
