Soccer Recap: Sunnyslope Comes Up Short

If Sunnyslope was feeling good fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Apollo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sunnyslope Vikings fell just short of the Brophy College Prep Broncos by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now lost five in a row.

Sunnyslope's goal came courtesy of Reed Mitzel, which was the first he's scored this season.

Sunnyslope's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Brophy College Prep, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 9-5-4.

Sunnyslope will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Millennium at 6:00 p.m. As for Brophy College Prep, they will head out to face off against Pinnacle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
