Golden West owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mt. Whitney Pioneers, sneaking past 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won eight in a row.

The result came thanks to Erin Fawkes's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Golden West's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Perez, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Golden West's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Mt. Whitney, they now have a losing record of 5-6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Golden West is set to square off against their familiar foe Porterville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Whitney will challenge rival El Diamante at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
