Baseball Recap: Burleson Has No Trouble Against Memorial

Burleson lost to Memorial back in March of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Everything went the Burleson Elks' way against the Memorial Warriors as the Burleson Elks made off with an 8-1 victory.

Evan Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Joe Villavicencio was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Smith, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Burleson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Burleson's win bumped their record up to 5-2-1. As for Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Burleson will take on Wall in a tournament on Thursday. As for Memorial, they will take on Red Oak at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
