Baseball Recap: Madisonville-North Hopkins Takes a Loss

Madisonville-North Hopkins made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Caldwell County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Maroons fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Madisonville-North Hopkins got a good showing from Jayce Weaver, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Weaver has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Madisonville-North Hopkins saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Lear, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
