Baseball Recap: Rose Hill Comes Up Short

Rose Hill had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-10 to make it four. They fell just short of the Augusta Orioles by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Orioles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Monday.

As for Augusta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 15, 2024.

For Augusta's part, they let Dalton Apel and Mason Skov run wild. Apel went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Skov got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Apel has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Wheeler, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rose Hill will square off against Collegiate at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Augusta, they will challenge Wellington on Thursday.
