Basketball Recap: Fordson Comes Up Short

After soaring to 63 points the game before, Fordson was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Wayne Memorial Zebras, falling 72-25. The Tractors haven't had much luck with the Zebras recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Wayne Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylohn Allen, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and six boards. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Austin Tory was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Fordson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Wayne Memorial, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Fordson will head out to face off against Belleville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Belleville is on a four-game streak of home wins, Fordson a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Wayne Memorial, they will venture away from home to take on Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wayne Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
