Baseball Game Preview: Nevada Union Miners vs. Roseville Tigers

The Nevada Union Miners will venture away from home to challenge the Roseville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Nevada Union is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Nevada Union after they put the first runs on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Twelve Bridges by a score of 5-3.

Carter Van Matre was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Roseville was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 5-2 to Del Campo. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Kyle Pettersen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Welch, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Nevada Union's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
