Poly is 10-0 against City College since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Thursday. The Poly Engineers will challenge the City College Black Knights. Poly knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully City College likes a good challenge.
On Monday, Poly was just a bucket shy of victory  and fell  56-55 to McDonogh. The Engineers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
 Despite the  loss, Poly had strong showings from  Brianna Pope, who  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 11  rebounds, and  London Elliot, who  posted 13  points along with eight  boards and three  steals. Poly is 4-1 when  Pope posts eight or  more  boards, but 6-7 otherwise.  Alexis Smothers was another key player,  putting up 11  points and four  steals.
 Meanwhile, City College had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with  a   47-40  victory over the Raiders.
 City College has also been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
 Everything came up roses for Poly against City College in their previous matchup  back in March of 2024, as the  team secured  a  66-28 win. Does  Poly have another victory up their sleeve, or will City College turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
