Basketball Recap: Hannibal Takes a Loss

Hannibal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The match between them and the Quincy Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Hannibal Pirates falling 70-55. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Quincy found their leader in sophomore Jada Brown, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards set a new season-high mark for Brown. Another player making a difference was Khloe Nicholson, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points in addition to five steals and three blocks.

Hannibal's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Quincy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-10.

Coming up, Hannibal will square off against Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Quincy, they will face off against Moline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Quincy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
