Soccer Game Preview: Ensworth vs. Brentwood Academy

The Ensworth Tigers will face off against the Brentwood Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ensworth is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Ensworth is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Montgomery Bell Academy, who was ranked fourth at the time (Ensworth was ranked 12th). The Tigers never let the Big Red get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. The contest was close at halftime, but Ensworth turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

Meanwhile, Brentwood Academy has been on a difficult stretch since their win on March 25. They fell just short of Lipscomb Academy by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Brentwood Academy have lost by just one goal.

Ensworth's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those six matchups. As for Brentwood Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Ensworth was able to grind out a solid victory over Brentwood Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 4-2. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
