Football Recap: Olton Mustangs vs. Sudan Hornets
Olton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Sudan Hornets by a score of 22-15. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Olton was led to victory by Isaiah Ruiz and Raymond Ramirez. Ruiz rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns, while Ramirez rushed for 100 yards.
Ruiz wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Olton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sudan only rushed for 121.
Although Sudan took the loss, they still got scores from Caleb Groetken and Jaibryn Ornelas.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olton will take on Dimmitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sudan, they will head out to square off against Tahoka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
