Baseball Game Preview: Pallotti Panthers vs. St. Frances Academy Panthers

Pallotti will head out on the road to take on St. Frances Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallotti is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Pallotti was able to grind out a solid victory over Jemicy, taking the game 9-5. The Panthers haven't had any issues with Jemicy recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ryan Cobb-Davis and Gus Chackmakian-Lodge did most of the damage at the plate: Cobb-Davis scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4, while Chackmakian-Lodge scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three hits gave Cobb-Davis a new career-high. Jerry Stanislaus was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Pallotti kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday St. Frances Academy sidestepped Sts. Peter & Paul for a 6-4 victory.

St. Frances Academy let Dorian Goldston and Joseph Cooper run wild. Goldston scored a run and stole two bases, while Cooper scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Mercer, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

The win got Pallotti back to even at 7-7. As for St. Frances Academy, their record now sits at 9-2-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pallotti has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Frances Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Pallotti was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Frances Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pallotti since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
