Defending national champs have shot at repeat with talented roster returning.

We set the tone for 2019 by looking at high school football's elite.


Head coach: Jon Kay

Last season: 16-0, No. 1 national ranking. Won all but one game by double digits. Beat Duncanville 41-36 in the 6A Division 1 state championship for school's third state title since 2003.

RB Zachary Evans (5-11, 200, Sr.) — 5-star was co-Junior Player of the Year in 2018 and is the No. 1 rated player in Lone Star State.

QB Dematrius Davis (5-11, 190, Jr.) — The Sophomore Player of the Year after accounting for nearly 4,000 yards of total offense and 49 touchdowns.

WR Shadrach Banks (6-0, 205, Jr.) — The 4-star playmaker had a monster sophomore season with 1,300 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns.

OT Damieon George (6-6.5, 350, Sr.) — An imposing lineman, George is committed to Alabama.

LB Corey Flagg Jr. (5-10, 225, Sr.) — Led the defense as a junior in 2018 racking up 144 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, four sacks and forced four fumbles. Committed to Miami.
