Collegiate is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Benedictine, who was ranked eighth at the time (Collegiate was ranked fifth). The Cougars were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Cadets on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Collegiate considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

They hit Benedictine with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Reid Campbell (2), Kellen Patel, and Jacob Timmons.

Meanwhile, St. Anne's-Belfield fell victim to St. Christopher's and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to St. Christopher's. St. Anne's-Belfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The victory made it two in a row for Collegiate and bumps their season record up to 9-2-2. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Collegiate beat St. Anne's-Belfield by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
