Basketball Recap: Cloudcroft Comes Up Short

Cloudcroft suffered their closest loss since January 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Dexter Demons by a score of 52-50. The Bears have struggled against the Demons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Cloudcroft still got an impressive performance from Rylee Pahl, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 24 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Thompkins, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dexter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cj Granados, who went 11 for 25 en route to 26 points. What's more, Granados also racked up three boards, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matthias Salas, who had 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Cloudcroft now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Dexter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Cloudcroft has already played their next game, a 50-40 victory against Loving on the 17th. As for Dexter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-44 defeat against Hagerman on the 17th.
