Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. O'Connor

The Liberty Lions are taking a road trip to take on the O'Connor Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Liberty is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Sunrise Mountain, who was ranked eighth at the time (Liberty was ranked fifth). Liberty lost 3-0 to Sunrise Mountain on Friday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for O'Connor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Sunnyslope on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Liberty's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3. As for O'Connor, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Liberty was able to grind out a solid win over O'Connor when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 5-3. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does O'Connor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
