Basketball Recap: Hudson's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Hudson entered their contest against La Salle Institute on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hudson Bluehawks fell 78-70 to the La Salle Institute Cadets. While losing is never fun, the Bluehawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Cadets are ranked 59th).

Despite the loss, Hudson still got an impressive performance from Keith Robinson, who posted 37 points and eight rebounds. The game was Robinson's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Eli Conte was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Even though they lost, Hudson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Hudson's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3. As for La Salle Institute, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson has already played their next contest (against Maple Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. La Salle Institute will host Schalmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Salle Institute knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Schalmont likes a good challenge.
