Softball Game Preview: Bothell Cougars vs. Hazen Highlanders

The Bothell Cougars will challenge the Hazen Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Bothell didn't have quite enough to beat Issaquah and fell 4-3. The Cougars have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Addison Hall was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bothell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolbi Schmer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hazen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 24-3 to North Creek.

Bothell now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Hazen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
