If Southwest EC wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mountain Empire, they should've done a better job of containing Amar Mahasin. The Mountain Empire Redhawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southwest EC Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 with plenty of help from Mahasin, who had 17 digs and five aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Mountain Empire took Southwest EC into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 15-7.

The victory made it two in a row for Mountain Empire and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. As for Southwest EC, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, Mountain Empire will face off against Calexico Mission at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwest EC, they will take on Brawley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
