Football Preview: Brookville Raiders vs. Karns City Gremlins
Brookville has gone 8-2 against Karns City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Brookville Raiders will be defending their home-field for the first time for the first time when they go up against the Karns City Gremlins at 7:00 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Brookville is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Bradford. Brookville blew past Bradford, posting a 48-21 victory on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-13.
Anthony Ceriani had a dynamite game for Brookville, rushing for 302 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Belfiore, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Brookville's defense and their six sacks. In that department, Belfiore was the leader with two. His longest rush was for an incredible 83 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brookville was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 497 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bradford only gained 319.
Meanwhile, Karns City took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Moniteau 59-0 at home.
Brookville barely slipped by Karns City in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 42-41. Will Brookville repeat their success, or does Karns City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
